That's a brilliant story!
I too have the original single of Je T' Aime. It's a fabulous 'song'/production. My single is completely unscratched.

Funnily enough it's in a picture sleeve. I didn't know they did picture sleeves in the late 60s. The picture is of Jane naked on a bed, though it is far from titillating.

I also have an instrumental of the song called Love At First Sight by Sounds Nice which is equally fabulous and was a small hit at the same time (October 1969).

I think a fair bit of the old falling down water was consumed but I don't think it affected my judgment .................

Having been locked in a Chelsea Pub one night with Ian Hunter, Mick Ronson and "Bonzo" Bonham, I wonder if you're referring to the audience or the band consuming the falling down water .... the HORROR Twisted Evil

She has the record on a CD collection but wants me to digitise the actual disc "for sentimental reasons". Bizarrely, she wants me to try and get rid of the pops and crackles. I'm tempted to ask why - but I'm dealing with a woman here!

Bless, does she not realise that if you take the pops and crackles off it will sound lik ethe cd version?

There is something about those pops and crackles as long as it doesn't make you have to get up and knock the unit to get it moved on again

The 'technology' of doing picture discs goes back to the 1930s. Even Hitler had them!

Yes, I have quite a few picture sleeves from the mid-60s onwards.
