Just reading the live streaming comments on the home page. Anyone who thinks Chris Evans is unpopular and that they are the majority is deluded. He is loved, big style. |

So what you are saying is that more people are listening than are not?
I think that you may have got that a little bit wrong, and people who ain't listening would not even bother adding to his forum.
Its just more BBC propaganda! |

Ok I’ll be generous – imagine that every member on this forum didn’t like Chris Evans (feels like it sometimes) and that every comment posted since this forum started was a negative comment about Chris Evans ( again…)- even that would be a tiny fraction of the number of people who listen to his show every day that it is on. The idea that people who like Chris Evans are "poor quality listeners" is rather conceited. People are people; we are all the same, yet we are all different.
Today ‘s show was brilliant, broadcasting genius. How laid back was Elton John? What a nice bear. |

Simon Bates' Golden Hour has been excellent this morning. Really good music and no shouting and screaming. _________________ MiS |

I used to love that, MIS, is it on DAB and does he still do the our tune thing, or was that someone else? |

That's fair enough, H. You don't like his voice so you don't have him on.
To be honest, I don't have him on every day, and when I do I yearn for a bit of peace and quiet, or my own music collection, after about an hour.
So I don't comment on the bits I don't hear.
It's a shame that some of the critics and moaners on here don't do the same. I'll just leave it at that - I could get quite cross about those on here who throw jibes about "minority" and "quality". _________________ Ron |

The minority argument, Ron, is the most ridiculous argument, so don’t worry about it. Ok, I concede: it is True with a capital T that the majority of people in the UK don’t listen to Chris Evans but it’s equally true that an even bigger majority of people in the UK didn’t listen to Terry Wogan and an even bigger majority don’t listen to Simon Mayo and an even bigger majority don’t listen to Johnnie Walker, I could go on and mention every other Radio 2 DJ with increasing majorities of people who don’t listen to them but it’s clear how ridiculous that would be. You can’t use the other side of the equation and then apply it to just one DJ to make a point.
The quality argument is equally ridiculous because no one person can know every other person in the UK; so they cannot with any credibility or expectation of being taken seriously, offer an opinion on the “quality” (whatever that means) of all those people. How can someone who doesn’t know me at all, know if I’m a quality listener?

Colin, I love you! Welcome back.
He is a complete Knob- but he's great on the Radio!.
I thought today's technological wizardy would be right up your street- it was all there- live streaming audio, video, twitter-feed, direct comment feed with feedback from a producer... it was quite a thing really. All on one page. |

I like technology when it fulfils a need - and my need is for radio that I can relate to. I can't relate to any radio or TV programming that includes knobhead's ego being foist on me.
Anyway, thanks for the welcome back Rachel! |

Just to clarify one of the earlier comments Simon Bates does the Golden Hour on Smooth every weekday between 9am and 10am the same slot as it used to be on Radio One
Our Tune is on only once a week on a Friday morning around 8 45am but can be heard again by going to the Smooth website
Smoothradio.co.uk
Hope this helps whoever was asking _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I do wonder why the interview and live streaming wasn't stopped after this? It does seem the BBC sweapt this under the carpet, because they didn't want to upset Sir Elton John. |

Doesn't take too much imagination to be honest! Especially with the likes of ColinB here whinging non-stop.....
It's quite simple, if you don't like him turn the ((((( radio off or over to another station. Nobody is forcing you to listen..... |

Rachel you are a breath of fresh air with all your positive vibes and laid back approach to life
Good for you taking it all in your stride and for your personal choice of liking Chris Evans
I preferred him on Drivetime (not a massive fan!) but didn't mind, don't listen in the mornings find him far too lively, but that's just me! Maybe I should try it again might get me up and doing quicker |

Hey leave Colin alone, he just tells it as it is!!
As far as turning the **** (insert your own word here) off, or tuning elsewhere, you lot still don't get it, what are the options??? As most listen to breakfast radio in the car, Smooth is the only option as I see it, and as 95% of cars don't have the DAB option, where can we go?
The BBC have let many licence payers down badly, it frustrates me immensely that so many cannot see through Evans for the sham that he is, and put up with the tripe that he delivers daily and then claim that he delivers quality radio, is there no hope? |

Oh thanks BDG. It is jolly important to keep things in perspective, life is an endless sea of possibilities, if we swim around in the murky depths, all we see is murky depths, if we surf the crests of the waves, we see the crests of other waves but more importantly we see that the sea has more waves than we will ever have time to surf.
I prefered Chris on Drivetime too becuase it fitted perfectly with my going home from work routine, but the Breakfast show is good- lively and fun.
No mention of Elton's F-word in the weekend papers- unless I missed it. |

"Most listen in the car?" You mean you do? I don't.
I think I’ve said this before: but I’ll say it again for clarity, if there really is no radio stations out there anywhere producing a breakfast show that you do like, and assuming that there isn’t some unknown megastar breakfast show genius just hanging around on the dole waiting for a slot on Radio 2, then why do you think that Radio 2 is capable of producing a breakfast show that you like? And if there is breakfast shows out there that you like, why not listen to them? It’s not quantum mechanics. |
