I heard a little of it but didn't think his chat between the tracks flowed very well, which is unusual for Parky. Liked the tracks I heard though.

Parky's series finished last night with a whole hour devoted to Irving Berlin. I have thoroughly enjoyed these programmes for the last 13 weeks and wrote to Radio 2 asking for more.
I had a reply from Phil Hughes, the Radio 2 Programmes Editor, saying that Parky will be back "shortly" with a new series.  No details as yet. |

Much as I like Parky's playlist, this series' playlist has been very narrow, even narrower than his old Sunday show, just a mere handful of American bands and mainly American swing singers featured much of the time. I could list 50 British and American bands and 50 artistes over the last six decades that I know he has played elsewhere that never got a look in.

I enjoyed much of Parky's show this evening, being in the car was able to LISTEN without distractions.
The last few tracks though were just all too smoooooootttthhhh !yeuch!

Michael's latest series of 'My Favourite Things' is back. I've not listened so far but checked out the playlist and last night's looks quite good so may be worth a 'Listen Again' on the iPlayer.
