Radio 2 Summer Of Soul kicks off this coming weekend. 12 Hours of Soul starts at 18.00 on Saturday with Craig Charles. Craig will also be sitting in for Jo Whiley on 30th and 31st August.

How annoying-this means that Richard Allinson loses one of his weekend shows.
Who on earth at the BBC thinks this a good idea. |

There was some technical fault in Manchester for Aled Jones show at 6am, so Craig had to carry on with is 12 hour soul show which ended him going on for 13 hours. At least it was Live. |

Is radio 2 turning into a soul station?Specials left right and centre and now a 12 hr marathon.A bit poor tbh _________________ I found out how you can hurt an insect.It's the bees knees |

They always seem to have a theme over Bank Holidays........ there was a Beatles one last year or was it the year before (?)
Must say I think they overdo it at times.
I only caught the end of Aled so wasn't sure what had happened before but he did say he didn't think they would get on air at all! I switched over not long afterwards..............

They had to set up a temporary studio in the drama studio in Manchester. |
