Seems a few people have lost their lives. There was reports that panic struck on board, and people jumping into the water. Maybe people will remember it's 100 years since the Titanic sunk. ITV got a drama out soon about the Titanic. |

It sounds like the film the Poseidon Adventure. A few people just found alive inside the ship. |

It's unbelievable that this could happen in today's world but they are
"lucky" in as much the ship isn't completely submerged, the water is reasonably calm and it's so close to the shoreline..
No doubt the Captain will be in for a grilling as to the cause of the accident and also, how he came to leave the ship hours before the passengers!
I'm not a fan of these big cruise ships, no doubt they are designed and proved by a computer model but to me... they're top heavy! ( and ugly too ) _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

5 Bodies have now been found. Still a few missing. With a 13 decks and 100 of rooms to look through it will take months before the salvage teams will be able to think of lifting this.
The Captain said " The rock wasn't listed on the sat nav or maps, and he was the last to leave" Obviously these are conflicting reports which will need investigating once the onboard black box is looked at. |

Now they are saying these Cruise ships are too top heavy and should be able to stay upright for 30minutes. The Costa is 26 Feet deep and 100 Feet High... They are a big hotel on water. I reckon they will now put senior staff on board to start new evacuation training. Costa bosses seem to putting the captain out to dry very soon. |

The captain was always very dry - it's some of the passengers who got their feet wet quite apart from those who sadly perished in what was an unnecessary and completely avoidable disaster _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Yes, they obviously read my post in deciding this..
Being a slight "Titanerack", I always get a little ruffled when today's critics point an accusing finger at Titanic designers/builders..
At the time, such a disaster wasn't thought likely. Even after a "normal" impact, the sheer size of the ship together with it's compartments, she would remain afloat until help arrived.
Seemingly having learnt nothing from this, I feel the same applies to these monstrosities.. not only do they look top heavy but to have to quickly evacuate 4000 people from basically a sky scraper on it's side, is surely bordering on the impossible? _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Thanks for that Santa Fe, I guess Costa are being extremely diligent at the moment. A pity the captain and crew of the Costa Concordia were not equally diligent last week. |

Seems the Captain is right upto his neck in it with the daming Coast guard conversation with him, asking for him to return to the ship. |
