|
I’ve been doing a bit of research into Radio 2 Presenter/Show Facebook pages for my Blog but owning to a recent change to the Google Accounts Ts&Cs I’ve deleted my Google Account not realising that it would also delete my blog account as well. Oh well. I’m quite miffed about it but I’m not doing it all again.
One of the things I was going to include along with the popular R2 Listeners’ Morale –o-Meter and the weekly awarding of the dcms Imaginary Clock was a weekly update to the R2 Facebook Chart.
Each R2/Presenter/Show Facebook page was going to be monitored and a chart produced to see who was the number one show on Facebook each week.
Perhaps :- I’ll move my blog features here to the coffee bar? I know how much everyone at R2 looked forward to seeing who had won the imaginary clock each week. Just a thought.
Anyway:- here is the R2 Facebook chart, top ten in reverse order:-
10: Ken Bruce (365)
9: Steve Wright (476) but also Anti-Steve Wright (367)
8: Jeremy Vine (1,020)
7: Aled Jones (2,077)
6: Bob Harris (2,868)
5: Alex Lester (3,350)
4: Drivetime/Simon Mayo (10,799)
3: Paul O’Grady (12,001)
2: Terry Wogan(20,249)
1: Chris Evans Breakfast Show : (79,594)
Come on all you presnters and shows that don't have a page- get a proper show page! |

I don't quite understand the chart (and I never read your blog, sorry - had no idea about it). Is the chart based on "Likes" of that presenter's page, or how many pages there are about a presenter? |

It's "Likes" Ian... it will be a slow moving chart... in that the postions might stay the same for weeks, months, maybe even years... ... decades?
You didn't really miss anything by not reading my blog. |

Is it based on 'hits' on any particular page for an individual show or on the number of actual postings?
I have actually read your blog pages now and again Rach and it's a shame that all your previous efforts disappeared in the way they did - I don't think I would have been quite as philosophical about it as you seem to be _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Shouldn't Ken Bruce be further up the chart? His "official" Facebook page is Popmaster and that's got over 6000 likes. |

No not really because that page links to an app running the pop master game, it's not a show page. And the 6000 users per month could all be the same person. |

Hmmm. Alright.
I'm surprised Steve Wright doesn't have his own page, but then I suppose it would be filled with abuse if he did (the group The Society For People Who Don't Like Steve Wright has 679 members) |

I'm surprised Steve W doesn't have a proper official Show Page too - he's always going on about FB .. saying things like, over on Facebook they're bla bla bla..... etc etc........ like FB is his best friend.
If you add the society you found with the negative page I found, that puts Steve W way out of the top ten but of course we don't do negative here.... |

Everything for SW gets posted through the main Radio 2 page, and it does attract a lot of negativity, not to say abuse, even when it's not him presenting, which they can, erm, deal with, to save him the bother, and perhaps more promptly than if he had his own. |
