Am i just being a bit slow when i ask what was the point of Thur? It's a chance for most people to say what they think of the government as well as local issues.

Labour shouldn't get too cocky,with Milliband in charge they will not win the next election.

I think Osborne is a complete nob and if I were a Tory (heaven forbid) I'd be ashamed of him. That said, I hate "career politicians" who leave school, go to Oxbridge, get a job as a political researcher in the Commons then wangle their way into getting a constituency nomination only to win the ensuing election and becoming an MP. And that's what the Milliband Brothers are. They've never done a real day's work in their lives. If I were a member of the Labour Party (as I was many years ago when the party existed to give a voice to those among whom I grew up) then I'd be pretty unhappy. Maybe that's why I'm no longer a member!

I also think that Milliband, E., is an arrogant prat to say that the outcome of the local elections proves that Labour is on its way back. What utter cobblers!

Isn't the current 'multi-millionaires row' in the house of commons made up of just such career politicians? I suspect the vast majority of them haven't had a proper job in their gilded lives either. It'd not surprise me at all if the last time most of them got themselves dirty, wet or cold was the last time they fell over in the mud on the playing fields at Eton (or whatever posh private school they went to) I'd take anything Oily Osborne says with a pallet load of salt, likewise Shameron. Ever since that dark May day in 2010 when that clot Clogg installed the aforementioned Shameron in No10, to my mind, it's been proved that the torys haven't learned a thing after more than 10 years in opposition, so what chance has a mere shot across the bows last thursday got?

I think many voters have thrown a stink bomb into No 10 and burnt Camerons trousers. Osborne should start to catch them quickly. before they explode even more.

Just to remind you all that long ago I predicted that Cameron has a limited life span as PM and that as the next election comes nearer there will be a challenge to his leadership

I wouldn't be surprised if Nadine Doris at some stage challenges Cameron as a 'stalking horse' candidate but of course the real challenge will come from David Davis or possibly Boris Johnson but I stand by my prediction that Cameron will not be PM or Party Leader by the next election Smile

I feel the same way. He's very much an "interim PM" and as the next General Election approaches the knives will be drawn. I also think that the Tory Right and assorted disgruntled backbenchers are encouraging Nadine Doris, thereby making her the most suitable candidate for the role of stalking horse when the time comes.

I made exactly the same point in relation to David Davis about a week ago when the issue was discussed on the JV show and for the first time ever Jeremy read out my e mail - or at least an edited version of it Smile

I also like David Davis, unlike most others in his shower of a party he appears to have integrity and knows what it is like to live in the real world.
I believe he still volunteers to be a special constable (or whatever they are called now)
I do think they would have been much stronger under his leadership.

Just looked the other one up, he seems a good bloke, just goes to show the Tories do have some decent people in their ranks.
