What an excellent idea.. I like the Deer and tree shaped ones.. I wonder if the idea is for real? _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

I think the bottom three are real designs that were submitted for consideration. I think the ones above are a graphic designer's joke. That said, I'd be happy to see such works of art in our our countryside - better than the drab eyesores that exist at the moment. |

It's not the design of these pylons which we should be worrying about - rather more important is the electrical field which is created around them
There are many pylons still in the gardens of residential houses which are the subject of wayleave agreements and they can seriously put at risk the health of the occupants and quite often their immediate neighbours
It's good that these new designs are coming in but the more important thing is to keep pylons away from high density residential areas - whatever the design may be _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

When I grew up in Plymouth we had a national grid power line going over the house - and when the 20,000 volt cables were wet with the miserable south-west sea drizzle that seems to last forever the lines used to hum!
I can't imagine the effect the power field had upon us.
My wife says it explains a lot........ |
