I've just had a look at the playlist page for today's show: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01p3h2l Did she really play the likes of Frank Zappa, Public Image Ltd & Black Sabbath on her show?!! What shows did they come from?!

She made me laugh today. She was introducing a song sung by Dolly Parton in a film in which she played someone who became a radio presenter by mistake. "Does that remind you of anybody?" said Elaine .
Enjoyable programme today. |

Remembering when Elaine got a fit of the giggles a few years ago. Well it happened again today. I didn't catch exactly what made her 'corpse'. She seemed to be talking about a show about Donna Summer's music and went on to play 'Hot Stuff'.

I love that programme.
Haven't caught up with this week's programme yet.
Wondering if Elaine managed the 4 hours without a giggling fit.  |

Being a songs from the musicals fan I don't half neglect Elaine and her programme. Tuned in last week and she played some great favourites of mine from Seven Brides for Seven Brother,Showboat,Phantom of the Opera and South Pacific.
Remember my son loving Gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair when he was about 3/4. I used to put the LP on and he always asked for that one. We sang and danced about to it. 
Elaine said there is to be a drama production of Phantom in the mode of Les Mis that was on the BBC a while ago . No songs. |

Talking of the drama production of Les Mis last year, I think it was just fantastic but (whispers) I saw the musical nearly 30 years ago and didn't like it - couldn't get to grips with it and was totally unmoved.
Looking forward to a straight version of Phantom. I saw a very early film version of it once about 50 years ago  and was so enchanted that next day at work during tea break I regaled my colleagues with the story  |

It's all a matter of personal taste,Eileen.If something doesn't grab you it doesn't grab you.
I have never seen (among others) the allure of Guys and Dolls myself.I saw a production of it years ago with John Simm in it - he was in his college years and thought he'd like to pursue a career in musical theatre. He changed his mind later. |
