Why do you think it's a good idea Mark?
It shouldn't matter whether the presenter is male or female just that he or she should have the right rapport with his or her audience at that time of day.
I actually think woman presenters on the whole witter on far to much and it would be a turn off for me even more so at that time of day! _________________ 88 - 91 FM this is Radio 2 from the BBC!

I think it depends on the woman. Funnily, for men it doesn't seem to matter how good they are, they get the gig anyway, even though some are no good at it, while women, in the main, have to be good at it to get the gig, although I can think of one or two who aren't. |

I think there are good and bad presenters of both genders and I don't think that female presenters should be favoured above their male counterparts but where they are the best candidate they should 'get the gig' and where not they shouldn't
I'd like to see more female presenters generally but it must be on merit not just to make up the numbers _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Charlie Charlton does a great job on Radio Newcastle's breakfast show, I think she's the stronger half of the duo of presenters. _________________ The wheel keeps on turning...

The BBC Radio Lancashire breakfast show used to be co-hosted by Alison Butterworth, who then became the producer (with microphone) when Tony Livesey took over. Livesey was by far the better presenter - and that's what it boils down to really, regardless of gender. |

I agree with this entirely. Women should only be given the job if they are good enough to do it, and I mean any job not just radio presenting.
All this PC-ness is starting to get on my wick, I am against discrimination but that applies to both men & women. Some women think they can have it both ways. |

Agree, gender shouldn't matter its whether they are good or not. Most of the females now on radio2 don't encourage me to listen. |
