I very occasionally caught Michael Ball's Sunday morning show (when Wogan permitted) and thought he was OK, if unremarkable. This is the second time I've encountered him standing-in for Ken Bruce and find it difficult to listen to him. The nature of his studio banter with anyone and some of the off the cuff comments just don't work for me.
I thought Claudia Winkelman was delightfully batty and vastly superior to Zoe Ball, but she also put a lot of people off. Wouldn't it be better to give the likes of Alex Lester a little more daytime exposure? |

I also like Windleman's endearing battiness and have enjoyed her stints in the morning chair, but I also think that Alex Lester would be a better substitute. Sadly, Lester is a proper "DJ" and that's just not what Radio 2 wants these days, it would appear. |

I've seen a few comments across social media lamenting Winkleman not being the stand-in, and I agree. She's clearly bonkers but endearingly so.
Michael Ball, meanwhile, is terrible. I'm amazed he's been asked back after being so awful over Summer. He has a bigger ego than Steve Wright, who at least has a slight tongue-in-cheek about all the "love the shows" he reads out. |

Turned on half an hour ago - can't stand any more so just turned off
Is anyone really interested in someone trotting out a list of silly names for hairdressers on what is supposed to be a mainly music station
The man should stick to musicals and steer well clear of music presentation
As a postscript my son has just pointed out that the specialist questions on the first round of Popmaster were used by Ken about 3 weeks ago so Mr Bones deserves to end up with egg on his face _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
