I have just sen a post on Facebook which suggests that Alex Lester's show is to be scrapped and replaced with repeats of some of the previous day's shows.

Nothing would surprise me. This week it was announced that BBC Radio has to impose cuts which equate to a loss of a further 550 contracts (permanent and contract). It's shameful. |

Actually, it's BBC News that is facing the cuts of between 550 and 600 staff, but this figure includes BBC Radio staff cuts as well. |

Does anyone know whether Radio One and One Extra are facing similar cuts?
It seems to me that money could be better saved by scrapping One Extra before cutting back on Radio Two. _________________ The wheel keeps on turning...

Yes, it's right across the network. A big restructure is on the way so staff will work across the stations, rather than just shows within stations. |

It's interesting that while the BBC goes on about having to make cuts, they still manage to send so many people to Brazil for a month to cover the World Cup! |
