Lots of coverage over the coming weekend. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/5wvSgk9ftg2gW9JwV5qgnP8/bbc-radio-2-cheltenham-jazz-festival-2015
I'd never have said I was a jazz fan but maybe it's growing on me and I actually quite enjoy Jamie Cullum's Tuesday evening show. I do think he's maturing into a good presenter.
I'm currently listening to Caro Emerald on the Jo Whiley show and tomorrow's FNIMN is a Frank Sinatra legacy.
Enjoy if it's to your taste!

Caro Emerald is sounding good tonight. Another show that I listen to on Sunday evening is Clare Teal. Even though it does mean that the weekend is all but over when her show comes on!! _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

I like some jazz,Helen, but am not it's biggest fan but when I saw this ....Gershwin Rediscovered ....in the schedule I had to have a listen.
Wasn't madly keen on some of the arrangements of these classic songs but the sheer class of the songs shone through for all that. ..interesting but I would rather have heard the songs sung, by these artistes, as they were intended (?) to be. Gregory Porter and Laura Mvula have the most beautiful voices....Laura's is almost hypnotic in it's beauty.Lovely vocals too from Eska and to a lesser degree (for me) Rebecca Ferguson. My highlight of the concert was Gregory Porter's version of Embraceable You ..it was just gorgeous. |

I noticed that programme Becky but didn't get to hear it, funnily Jamie Cullum has just mentioned it on his show tonight. I'm like you I prefer the 'original' arrangements so not sure if I'll listen, maybe if I've time! I've tickets for the John Wilson tour this November which is about Gershwin so I'm really looking forward to that!
