The dark lord covered Bob Harris country show. Bob was unwell with man flu.
If anyone missed it go to bbc.co.uk/radio2 and listen again. |

Good to hear Alex elsewhere on R2. He mentioned his American road trip as well. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I have given up listening to Bob Harris' Country as Bob ignores most country music in his shows and only plays the same small clique of "alt" acts he likes. I tuned in at about 7.10 & was surprised by a really good show covering a broad spectrum of country music
Well done Alex. I think he should take over the country show from Bob |

To be fair, Nick Barraclough used to do the non alt-country stuff in his own R2 show on Wednesday evenings (?) before it got canned. Bob followed on Thursdays with the alt- end of the genre - not sure the idea was to fit all of it into an hour each week. Personally, I'm not keen on the "my wife left me today and my dog died last week" type of country music and actually prefer the stuff Bob plays - so I'd welcome the return of a more specialised second programme each week. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Bobs show worked fine when it was complemented by Nick's show on Wednesday night. But now Bob's show is the only R2 country show he should feature a broader spectrum
Thank God for the internet! |
