David Jenson on Planet Rock. Much better music than Radio 2's Sunday dross! |

Nah, Colin. I'm not in the mood for headbanging on a Sunday morning! I'm enjoying the Barbra Streisand!! |

Must say, I'm not too keen on this Tarbuck person, but a nice selection of music ideal for a Sunday morning. Nice to have Radio 2 back on Sundays!! |

Got to disagree, am enjoying Lisa Tarbuck, not sure I'd like her to be on every week.

There's no headbanging at all on Jensen's show. If there was I wouldn't listen to it and I'd turn Caroline instead.
What did surprise me was a Barclay James Harvest number that I haven't heard for years plus tracks from a great new London band who I've never heard of (and whose name I missed). In my view, Jenson's show is the kind of thing I'd like to be hearing on R2 on Sundays. It won't happen whilst the station has such an unimaginitive controller, however....
Btw - Lisa Tarbuck? I rest my case! Gawd help us. |

I'll have to give it a try one of these days
BTW, Colin, do you ever listen to Nicky Horne on Planet Rock?? I used to listen to him wayyyy back on Capital,"Little Nicky Horne". I keep intending to listen on planet rock but keep forgetting
If you listen, what is his show like? What sort of Rock music does he play? |

I don't get to hear him much due to the fact that only listen to the station on weekend daytimes but what I have heard is always good.
In some respects PR has a similar feel to the old Capital Radio. For me, David Jensen's Sunday am show is the station's best. |

Did they have the wrong person to do the newspaper review. It should have been the other way round. Paul Ross covering and Liza doing the paper review. I have a feeling Tarby will get a gig soon at the station, but she did say had no time to watch soaps when Paul Ross was talking about them. I wonder what her daytime job is? I havn't seen her on TV for sometime. |

She does lots of things Mark. I read a magazine article a few months back and she had just been in a film. She also does a lot of documentary narrating (that doesn't sound right but you know what I mean). I think she does theatre too.
I switched on in the middle of the paper review so didn't catch all of that.

Clive55: I've just been listening to Nicky Horne on Planet Rock. I can thoroughly recommend him (I also enjoyed him on Capital all those years ago).
He tends to play late 60s/70s/80s rock, nothing too obscure, with some good anecdotes-- though he did play I Still Haven't Found etc from The Joshua Tree when he could have played many other tracks from that fine album. |

"Television Voice-Overs" is the expression you're looking for, Helen! Also, she does a fair few TV commercial V/Os as well - listen carefully and you'll hear them. The latter pays a lot of money and you don't need to many to be earning a pretty decent whack of dosh. |

Nicky is well worth a listen,he plays some good stuff like Lizzy floyd and he also does some interesting interviews.Tbh planet rock has become my choice of listening along with R6 and R2 with Janice and Alex _________________ I found out how you can hurt an insect. It's the bees knees |

' Every little helps'. Don't most Radio 2 presenters do voice overs for that supermarket? |

I almost used 'voice overs' but I didn't think it really fitted. Ads yes, but not that. Maybe it's just me!

Talking of Sunday mornings, surprised how well Hardeep Singh Kholi has done whilst covering for Aled Jones.
