... Chris Tarrant Sitting In On The Big Show thread?
Didn't hear it, had other fish to fry today, but it's interesting, if not surprising, to note that of 45 comments on the BBC Facebook thread only three offer unconditional praise.
What is surprising is that the other 42 have been left to stand

I caught some of the show yesterday (whilst decorating): whenever I hear CT on R2, I think- oh this is a guest impressionist or a jokey fill-in or a trailer for some future docu-show about annoying quiz shows…. but no, he just keeps going- he’s like the Duracell Rabbit. I accused my mum-in-law of listening to junk…in that, why are you listening to this rubbish, mum, kind of way. “ That’s the station you left it on my dear”. Really!?- this is Radio 2? Blimey! It is! No one told me about this. After a while he was ok in that, when you go to a dog rescue centre and there’s not many to choose from, so you stroke a few of the strays, tickle em behind the ears, then say to the staff, we’ll come back next month- we really wanted a much bigger dog but thanks for showing us around, kind of way. |

I’ve just driven back from my ladies that lunch- lunch, and listened to a bit of CT- he seems to have been reduced to reading out a list of peoples’ names followed by expressing surprise as he told us how old they are. If he gets really stuck- there’s always the phone book- weeks of show material in there- it's all in alphabetical order too. I hear there are some jobs going in the Census department; perhaps he’d fit in better there? He’s better than Steve Wright though… |

he is, but it really isn't saying a lot is it? He's trying much too hard.......
By the way, I quite fancy joining the ladies that lunch lunches. They sound jolly good fun, in a sort of Bunty Bagshawe way. Do you think the fact that I'm not a lady (I'm too common for that!) be a barrier to my membership? |

CT must be reading this- he's talking about the Census now He's already done half of it for earlier in the show.
CT is actually quite good really- on the bonkers side of barking mad- I like that.

I've found him immensely irritating on R2. Shut up man- it's not all about YOU! I liked the way Griff Rhys Jones pulled him up yesterday and said could he possibly get a word in edgeways
Even the usually unflappable Kate Humble had to ask him if she could say her piece today.
Tarrant has turned in to yet another mouth-on-a-stick.....which probably makes him a perfect R2 signing
And don't even get me started on the car-crash feature that is "Battle of the Oldies" _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

He annoyed me last time he was on with the way he wouldn't let his guests say what they wanted to.
I missed Griff and Kate pulling him up on it as I couldn't hear the radio at the time, I'll have to listen again.
I don't dislike him totally though as he plays some rockier tracks now and then.
Wasn't keen on his sneering at Jim Reeves though!!! |

Last time Tarrant stood in for SW he made endless snide comments about Acker Bilk's Stranger On The Shore.
A gauche and unpleasant man. |

I quite enjoy his rockier selection, however, one thing that REALLY puts me off any presenter is them telling me or anyone else which music is "cool" and which is naff.... I'll decide that, thank you- and I'll keep my opinion to myself afer I've decided. _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

CT is a very poor replacement for SW.
When you listen to the way he speaks to his "Battle Of The Oldies" contestants you begin to understand why his wife left him.
The man is truely an arse, and I'm sorry if that offends anyone but it's nothing to do with his presentational style or anything but the fact that he is most likely a chauvinist and a dinosaur. |

To be honest with you Angus, I truly believe that CT's presentation style, as heard recently, actually does make him an arse of the highest order _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |
