I am at a loss as to why he's there in the first place ..there are many more seasoned presenters suited to this sort of programme already at 5 Live.... |

Chris was asked to do some commentary on the Masters for 5 Live, because he likes Golf, and has done before... He had to take a weeks unpaid leave from Radio 2. He's not getting paid for his services for 5 live. At the end of the day!! They are trying to make a story out of this, because of his past mistakes. He will never live that down..Maybe everyone else needs to move on, like he has... |

That's the problem Mark - he hasn't moved on
We're still stuck with him on Radio 2 - unless of course you know something that we don't _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Unfortunately it wasn't a nightmare - although with the amount of airtime his annoying voice is allocated I'm sure many a nightmare will be induced! |

Don't panic! Captain Chris is there in his own time- not being paid, just tagging along for the ride with the 5-Live people. That said, being late is a discourtesy to others- so I’ll send Captain Chris on a Sheduling and Time Management Course: Captain Wogan can take charge for a while. Yes you did hear Captain Chris on The McVities advert. |

No, I don't think so ....I think it's fair to report this ..not least because there would have been listeners wondering where he was (perhaps )and wanting an explanation...he was supposed to be at work for a certain time and he was late ..he wasn't caught in a traffic jam or something similar that prevented him from being there ..he was late because he forgot what time the show was due to start.. ...he doesn't deserve to be tarred and feathered ,but the fact is he acted very unprofessionally.
And he didn't have to take unpaid leave, he chose to do it to indulge one of his hobbies ....after all it's hardly going to break him financially is it? |

He might not have been paid for "commenting" (as he put it) but who paid for the trip to America? |

He can certainly afford to pay for it out of his own pocket and probably charter a private jet to fly him over there! _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

If he's taking unpaid leave from R2 and is not being paid for working on R5 (why is that?) what's the fuss about? _________________ Ron |

Evans' timekeeping is on a par with my boss's and both of them ought to have After The Fire's 'One Rule For You, One Rule For Me' as a ringtone!
Because me and the others on the team aren't allowed to be late, and her maj arrives late with some Reggie Perrin excuse. _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!

Even if it is unpaid leave, why is the R2 controller allowing him to be absent from work for two weeks whilst he effectively works for another network?
Could have been worse, though - we might have had Victoria Derbyshire or Dotun Adebayo doing the Breakfast Show for a fortnight instead of Richard Madeley.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Perhaps he felt sorry for the R2 listeners.... or he's looked in on here and decided we deserved a break! |
