The Radio Caroline Birthday Bash - celebrating the 47th anniversary of Britain's finest independent radio station.
From Good Friday though until midnight on May Day Bank Holiday Monday Radio Caroline (a much better alternative to Radio 2 for much of the week) is broadcasting live from its radio ship, the MV Ross Revenge.
In addition to broadcasting on its usual SKY 0199 and web streams (as well as a very fine iPhone App) the station is also broadcasting to south Essex and north Kent for the duration on 531 kHz AM. They're saying south Essex and north Kent; in fact, Caroline can be heard in the Midlands, South Yorkshire and also in Belgium, Holland and Germany!!!
If you're sick to the back teeth of listening to the rubbish to be heard on Radio 2 over the holiday weekend then get yourself over to a much better alternative. At a time when Zoe Ball is wittering on about nothing over on R2, a really fabulous selection of music has been playing on Caroline and I've no doubt it will continue throughout the weekend. |

I must admit i have tuned in a few times recently and they do play some good stuff
