Did I hear Stuart Maconie correctly this afternoon when he said the Beautiful South were breaking up because of "music similarities". If this is so it's a shame as I liked their music. |

Unfortunately, Mark, Is is true. I caught the story on Look North on Friday. They were the epitome of intellegent music. _________________ Geddon

I can understand people breaking up because of 'differences', but 'similarities'? _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Sad but inevitable, given the "contractural obligation" feeling to the last two albums, interesting though parts of them were. I remember a thread on the Beeb board discussing the possibility before Christmas - I think Sony BMG weren't too keen on renewing their contract.
Paul Heaton is said to be carrying on on his own - hope he has better success than the last attempt. _________________ Ron |
