I have caught a bit of his shows recently, whilst driving, and he has had guests on flogging their books, is the show now The One Show on the radio ? |

It's not just The One Show - it's "popular telly and radio" in general. Just look at vehicles like The (new) Jonathan Ross Show on ITV1. And, of course, for Evans it's great that he has lots of self-interested studio guests because he needs others around him in order to do a show. He can't do it do it solo, unlike his talented, self-depracating, predecessor. |

I expect he just thinks of it as a silly thing to occupy half the show, and HE doesn't have to think too much; he gets paid whether the show is rubbish or not _________________ -

Chris has a "co-host" every Friday, and they seem quite popular (depends on the guest, obviously). Breaks up the week a bit, but is a bit relentless. |

Chris is looking a little well on The One Show tonight. Anyway I've been tuning to Moyles on Radio1 as I enjoy his banter.. |

A little well? Does he normally look unwell? (I wouldn't know, of course).

"Relentless" is just the right word word Evans is concerned. He certainly is that...... |

Anyway, aren't most guests on most shows trying to flog something? I remember Frank Skinner used to take the mickey by lowering either a big sink plug or big mains plug from the ceiling every time somebody said they had a book or film coming out. |

Largely because the shows' talent bookers don't have to go after the celebrities to get them on the show - the PR agents are hounding the show to get their clients on. It's a different matter when there's nothing to plug, of course. |

Well I remember many Parky Sunday shows where he'd have cricketers and the like as guests, plugging books. _________________ -

Steve Wright's guests are always plugging things.
I don't listen to CE as most of you know, but Wogan didn't have guests in the way CE seeems to. Not sure it's what is required at breakfast?

I don't think celeb guests appear on any TV or radio show unless they are plugging something, be it a book, CD or some other activity, such as that guy currently swimming down the thames for charity who is being featured on The One Show. No I don't know how far he has got as I don't watch it on Fridays and there's no One Show over the weekend! _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Well, to be fair to David Walliams he's doing a pretty tough task to raise money for charity - that's OK to plug, isn't it?
Anyway, he's done 111 miles over 7 days and is currently going through Walton-on-Thames. He was greeted at Maidenhead yesterday by Michael Parkinson! So far the money total is just short of £700,000. |

Has he got to the bit with 500,000 cubic meters of sewage they have put in the river, and advised him not to go there ? |

Fair play to David Walliams for what he is doing, it is not an easy thing to do at all and I wish him well.
I don't mind this kind of thing being plugged as long as it's not too much, charity is fine but I'm afraid something like Children in Need goes way over the top. |

People should give to charity because they want to willingly and in private not simply because some so called celebrity chooses to do something to promote his own career by some silly self publicising stunt
We are rapidly becoming a nation where people make charity donations to make themselves look good in the eyes of their friends rather than because they actually believe in the cause they are supporting
And yes much of this hypocracy is down to things like Children in Need and Sport Relief
Why is it that these people need some silly reason to donate instead of simply doing the right thing off their own bat _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I heard Chris Evans talking about Janice Long and saying - "she would like to start at 11pm every night instead of Midnight". Chris went on to say " She a bit worried speaking to the boss about this " Things would have to be moved around to accomodate the move" |

How would he know? I doubt their paths would cross due to their differing schedules.
Not only that, but he should keep his mouth shut about things like that on air. Mention it to management, possibly, but don't blab to the nation about it. But that's Evans all over isn't it? Don't worry if it upsets/embarrasses/puts subject in difficult position- as long as it fills a link..... moron. _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

There's a very easy solution to the problem
Give Janice the breakfast slot and I'm sure Mr Evans would love a spot of night time work
Let him keep all the insomniacs company for a few hours - I'm sure they'd really appreciate it _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I wake up a few times in the night and find it hard to get back to sleep. Alex helps, so does Richard Allinson......Mr Evans would not help at all. In fact he would make getting back to sleep an impossibility. _________________ Pirate Johnnie Walker played my request on 11 April 2009 |

A distinct lack of "engage brain before putting mouth into motion" methinks.
You would think someone who talks for a living would consider the ramifications to others prior to spilling the beans on any conversation they have.

That's because he has a gob that was set to autopilot the second he was born. Just listen (if you can bear it) to a mere 10 minutes of his breakfast show - he talks and talks and talks even when there's nothing to say. And he talks the biggest load of crap possible! |
