@richardallinson is driving the unwell Steve Wright show today 28th September. Seems to either happen if you can't get in for your show, or ill. Not many DJ's do this go ill. Don't forget to catch his overnight weekend shows..... |

Apart from seeing that Allinson is sitting in for Steve Wright (which I read on another thread) I have literally no idea what the above post is saying. |

"the unwell Steve Wright show"?
You're right there. The Steve Wright Show has been unwell for a long time now. |

I think I'd have had an easier life if I were a WW2 Cryptoanalyst at Bletchley Park. Mark definitely has one over the originators of the Enigma code, for sure. |

Nothing against RA but if both Tim Smith and Janey Le Grace were in why couldn't they do the show. Both have deputised on the station before. Are we paying them for having two days off ? |

Think this means that it seems to be the case that if someone is ill or otherwise unable to present their show someone else will present it instead.......
And apparantly the pope's a Catholic..... |

I think it's a contractual thing. They're contracted to act as contributors (ie: props) to the SW Show, but if they were to be required to jump into the hot seat at a moment's notice they would have to be on a presenter's stand-by contract instead. The BBC Contracts Department still has its old ways. |

One of these machines just went up for auction didn't it? Shame. I'm sure we could have clubbed together..... |

Richard Allinson loves his job/being a DJ and playing great music, unlike some of the other mainstays who are just going through the motions picking up their over paid salaries. |

You know it's a pretty bad state of affairs when someone wishes that Tim Smith was on the radio.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”
