It will be interesting to see if the new DG has sufficient balls to stand up to meddling politicians and anti-BBC critics, unlike the current DG who - in my opinion and that of many BBC staff members - is one of the worst DG's in the history of the corporation.

Somehow, I think the BBC will end up with the same old same old and standards will drop even further....

He's there to direct the BBC into the new world. There will be more cuts to come.
