Of course they would Helen
We have a Government and an established culture which is essentially anti British - or at least anti traditional British
As far as I am concerned the sooner UKIP start seriously making inroads in this country the better _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

But electoral success for UKIP will only let in another Labour Government which would be disastrous.
The main problem with Abu Qatada and numerous other cases is that the unelected judiciary and the courts have far too much power at the expense of the democratically elected Government who are now unable to take decisions without legal challenge. |

I agree Schiz but the problem arises from the power of the European Court over our domestic courts - the British courts probably don't want to keep this odiouse man here but they're stuck with the dictats from Europe
It gets back to my original point that we need to get out of the EU sooner rather than later and the only party which is going to achieve that result is UKIP _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I feel so angry whenever I see that clip of film showing Abu Qatada walking along with (presumably) his wife, although as she is in full burka she could be anyone (but probably best not to open that particular can of worms!)
As Helen said, the French would probably have sent him back years ago. He is costing us so much money and he broke his bail by, I believe, being found to have a computer and phone in his house. I wonder how long he'd had them and what more damage he might have done by using them?

Did anyone hear a news clip (late night on R2 yesterday) where he was described as a 'fellow' by I think Geoffrey Robinson? I really couldn't think of anyone who less deserved to have that term applied to them.

So why has the UK courts not tried to prosecute him here?
Eh, are we saying he has committed no crime in UK, and can't be tried here for any wrong doing? _________________ -

They would not be able to do anything about Qatada though.
All a vote for UKIP will do is let Labour in and they are even more pro EU than the Tories. |

Yes I agree with Toggy, at the moment it's sadly almost a wasted vote if you vote for UKIP.

I remember not so very long ago people said the same thing about votes for the Lib Dems and now they're in Government
I think UKIP are poised to put themselves in at least as good a position bearing in mind that they are picking up the votes of disillusioned supporters of all the other major parties
I could easily foresee that the Tories might need to form another coalition in order to stay in power so if UKIP manage to get some of their candidates elected then it could produce a very interesting situation _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I wouldn't say they are a wasted vote but they are reactionary and populist.
Most of their policies seem OK on the surface but they are unachieveable, their economy policy is a joke.
UKIP will do well at the European elections next year but given that their present MEPs do next to diddly squat for their money there seems very little point in voting for them there either.
Why have elected MEPs who do not turn up and vote against anything even if it is a good idea.
They voted against a reduction in the EU budget lately and against a drop in mobile roaming charges. |
