On the subject of Alex Lester. How nice it is to have him again as 'my alarm clock'. What a shame it's only for the Christmas period. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Yes, I know what you mean. The applies to my alarm clock radio, which goes off at 6.45am. This week I'm able to set it to Radio 2 in order to listen to Mr. Allinson as opposed to Mr Very Irritating Noise! |

It was interesting to hear just how many people were obviously contacting Richard as people who did not normally listen to R2 at breakfast hence his comment on a number of occasions about thanking them for tuning to R2
One perhaps couldn't really be sure that he was having a dig at the normal presenter but that was certainly the way I interpreted it _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

He probably was having a little dig. I emailed him once and made a reference to the fact that I don't normally listen at breakfast. He didn't air my message but he did reply to the email with a thanks and a "wink". |

It feels like 10-15 years ago, when Alex was my full time mon-fri 'alarm clock' and I'd have Radio 2 on for most of the time. That, for me, was Radio 2 at it's best. Such a shame it's only temporary. Perhaps it's time to coin the phrase Lester's for life, not just for Christmas! _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Yes it does, back to the time when we used to have Radio 2 on all day in our house. I have the alarm set to make sure we hear it all. _________________ Pirate Johnnie Walker played my request on 11 April 2009 |
