Ah, lovely League of Gentlemen. I know some of the real life people the characters are based on, so some of the series is terrifying for me.
Not listened to the radio show for ages though, must give it another listen. |

So they're not all figments of their imaginations? ...worrying.
Reece Shearsmith ( a great favourite of mine) is playing a real life killer tonight in Jeff Pope's The Widower on ITV ... Sheridan Smith co-stars. |

I was going to give The Widower a miss, after reading the RT blurb on it, but ended up watching it on ITV Player yesterday. Reece is a real talent, isn't he? The Inside No 9 series , which has just finished, was a real cracker.
Is there a real butcher, like Hilary Briss, Ian? _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

Probably! The specific characters I recognise are Herr Lipp and Pauline, as they were both based on teachers Steve Pemberton and I had (he was six years above me though). |

Herr Lipp! What a fabulous creation he was. The mind boggles at what your teacher must have been like...
Steve Pemberton has been equally brilliant in Inside No 9, btw. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

Another hit from writers of The League of Gentlemen ... the mime episode was a brave one to do but they made it work!
I always look forward to new ventures from this group ...they're a talented bunch.
I wonder if the writer of The Widower knew for a fact that Malcolm sat,as was shown, and explained his problems to his wives after drugging them or was that a bit of dramatic licence? Ian Robinson wrote: | oldraver wrote: | Is there a real butcher, like Hilary Briss, Ian? |
