Hollywood Legend Mickey Rooney has died at the age of 93. He never retired from the big screen and over 200 movies. |

I saw him a few years ago dining in Raymond Blanc's Brasserie in central Milton Keynes. My dad, who was staying with us for a few days, said to my mum "I'm sure I just saw Mickey Rooney over there. I'm going mad". He wasn't going mad - and he did see him. Rooney was appearing in panto at MK Theatre at the time and was obviously dining out with some friends on a night off.
I was surprised at just how small of stature he was. |

Now that's what you call a career!.. stepping on the stage at just eighteen months to working on what was to be his last film at age 93.
Small in stature maybe but larger than life ....we have lost a true Hollywood legend.

Ah, Mickey. He will always have my grudging admiration, as the little fella who was the first man to make love to Ava Gardner.
It'd be nice if the Beeb showed Boy's Town, with him and Spencer Tracy. Wonderful film. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |
