Bill is back with a 6 part 4th series starting Wed 26th February at 10 pm.

Would it be too much to ask for a playlist??

Bill is back with great music and tales that only he could tell!
He says he doesn't like to name drop but I'm glad he does!....how else would I know that Tom Hanks is a big fan of The Beatles? I have always liked Mr Hanks but I like him even more now after hearing that piece of information.
The music, the chit-chat ..I love it all .... lovely entertaining programme ...welcome back Bill! |

Guess what they have finally given us a playlist for episode 5, better late than never I suppose.
I didn't see it until after I'd listened and would you believe they have done it for the whole series and series 3 last autumn. I did mention it when I wrote to RT when they asked for questions to be put to Bob Shennan and said what was the use of the Playlister without a playlist?

Have you heard the last episode Becky? I've recorded it but not had time to listen.
According the R2 weekly email Bill is going to do an Everly Bros special later in the year and was a bit emotional at the end of the last episode.
Hope he'll be back for another series.

I have,Helen.
I don't think I'm spoiling it for you when I say it's sad to hear, from Bill, that Barrett Strong who sang Money(That's What I Want) is destitute and living in a retirement home after suffering a stroke.
He co-composed some fantastic songs including I Heard it Through The Grapevine...you would think royalties from that alone would have seen him comfortable in his old age.
I was surprised the other week when he wasn't familiar with the song Don't You Know by Della Reese because I am! It was adapted from an aria ("Musetta's Waltz") from Puccini's La Boheme.... I bet he'd love to know that.....perhaps I should email him.
Once again these weeks with Bill and his great tales and music have sped by... I look forward to the special with Don and Phil. |

I've managed to miss every single show, this series, but I have got the R2 email, so will click on that. I've seen Bill's face a fair bit this season though...usually beaming with pride and joy, at the way Everton are playing. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

I know, H. I don't know why they can't leave them online for weeks or months, like Radio 4 programmes generally are. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |
