It's funny to think that it took a couple of days to produce the stereo mixdown master for Sergeant Pepper, but only after it took a couple of weeks to produce the equivalent mono master. Mono still took priority in those days. (The stereo mix isn't as good as the mono one!).
Anyway, all of The Beatles' UK albums have been remastered from the original mono master tapes at Abbey Road and will be available as a limited edition box-set from September.
I'm sorely tempted............ but will The Boss allow such an investment?

I've still got most of mine on the original vinyl so I won't bother with the remastered ones. I rather like the snap crackle and pop that my overplaying them has created! Adds to the atmosphere!

Some of my early singles ("She Loves You", for one) have grooves so worn you can virtually see through to the other side! |

I think we will see a lot more of this stuff as they all rush out anything they can find to meet the rules on copyright, in that it has to be released.
I think its good as we are seeing things we didn't know existed |

I think that one and 'From Me To You' meet that criteria in my collection! I was wondering why they were so often played? I had far fewer records before they came out, maybe the pocket money was increased round that time LOL.
