Gerry Goffin writer of so many hits with his former wife Carole King died today aged 75.
Music of my pre-teen years and later!

I was just amazed at some of the stuff he wrote without me even realising that it was down to him - and I like to think I know a fair amount about music - I would imagine Carol will be very distraught tonight as they clearly had a very close relationship both professionally and personally
His music will live on for ever and that's the best epitath _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Indeed, so many good songs in the 60s were written by Goffin/King. From the wonderful 'I'm Into Something Good' to 'Up On The Roof' which Allinson played this morning, along with 'You Make Me Feel....'
I was amazed to learn only a few years ago that The Byrds' 'I Wasn't Born To Follow' from Easy Rider was one of theirs. |
