I've just listened to Part 1 of an adaptation of one of my favourite books. It was acted delightfully by Punt and Dennis and by Julian Rhind-Tutt narrating as "J".
It was all very familiar to me of course but always makes me laugh - especially the packing for the trip ("When George is hanged, Harris will be the worst packer in the world"), plus the Hampton Court Maze debacle. The incidental music was in keeping with the time it was set including Sullivan and music hall tunes.
When it finishes next week I must read it yet again . |

I didn't get round to listening to that one,Eileen, but a couple of months ago another adaptation was on the radio which I have been catching up with this week It really is a delightful book and Jeremy Nicholas narrates this adaptation of it with a real sense of fun.
