I was driving along this afternoon listening to Radio 2 & after a record Elaine Paige opens the mike and starts coughing. Doesn't she know this is plain bad manners? I hate it when people cough down the line on phones. This is what a mute button is for.
Did her parents not instruct Miss Paige on the basics of manners? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

She's not in control of the mic and controls. The producer should stop her doing it. If she sang and coughed people would say something about it. Very un professional. |

I'd rather hear her coughing than singing - some would say there isn't much difference _________________ Eternal nothingness is fine if you happen to be dressed for it. |

Offensive to Elaine, and offensive to dockers.
Categorising people is offensive and ,I'm sure in this case, unintentional.

Manners aren't your strong suit either--her parents both died recently. Nice to take a shot at the dead! So the woman is never to sound anything but perfect? Like the rest of the R2 presenters?

If, as has been said earlier, she has no control over the buttons and somebody else is doing that for her, coughing's quite an easy thing to do - I once lost some freelance work at one station for that very reason (the gits!) I much prefer being in control of my faders, so I can have a good hack before speaking and the listening tens are none the wiser! _________________ "....you're wearing a plywood bow tie with Dundee United on it?" |
