According to a letter published today, by Michael Sands, OAP's that are in prison are much better off than OAP's that rely entirely on the state pension. The government spend, approximately £6000 PA on an OAP relying entirely on the state pension and £40000 PA on an OAP in prison. Seems that being a law abiding citizen does not pay as well as being a criminal, do we have our priorities right?

As you porbably know, BB, prisoners get a hell of a lot of rights. Someone I know in the prison service told me they have DVD players in cells and are shown films. Now, the warnings on DVD's say you can't show in public places, oil rigs and prisons - but the warders ignore this because they know they'll have a riot on their hands otherwise!!
Yes our priorities are mixed up - where do we start to putting it right - prison seems as good a place as any. _________________ Some say he once threw a microwave oven at a tramp and that all his potted plants are called 'Steve'.....all we know is, he's called 'The Stig!'. |
