Usual superlative way to spend two hours.
No particular comment on the music this week but Brian Matthew always comes over as such a nice, friendly man. Have any of you ever met him and is it a case of what you hear is what you get?

My uncle worked as a sound engineer at ATV during the days of Thank Your Lucky Stars and says that Brian was a genuinely nice bloke who doesnt seem to have changed a bit since those days. Aparently his sixties musical knowledge is encyclopedic. Dont suppose thats a suprise really. |

Didn't get to catch it all but, as usual (well, almost) he managed to play a different version of one of the hits, this time the Shadows' Wonderful Land, which seemed to have lost its string/orchestral accompaniment.
It was taken from The Shadows At Abbey Road, which is apparently full of alternative versions. _________________ Ron |

That Shads CD is well worth getting - there's a budget reissue going for around £4 at the moment, too. _________________ "....you're wearing a plywood bow tie with Dundee United on it?" |

Amazon has the UK version at 3p under a fiver. Virgin stores have stocks of the Dutch release - same tracks, different order - at £6 _________________ Ron |
