A man who became trapped in a flooded drain has died, as heavy rains continue to fall across England and Wales.
Rescuers had battled to free the man in Hull, where officials declared a state of emergency amid torrential downpours.

The downpours wont help with the water shortage if we have any, as it just Bounces off the ground and can't conserve water right. |

It took me nearly 7 hours to do a journey of 35 miles on Monday night. Normally it takes less the 1! _________________ Geddon

When will business realise that you can't build houses on flood plains and expect them to stay flood-free?
I remember the Brigwood estate being built at Haydon Bridge in Northumberland a few years back - right next to the River South Tyne, which has flooded the village a few times recently. Surprise, surprise, there have been flood warnings for the estate on several occasions since the estate was finished - would you want to buy a £300,000 house that you can't get insured? _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

A friend of mine couldn't get home till 8 pm due to the floods, and I had to reschedule a job interview because of the same. A man from the council also asked if they could put sandbags down as the garage near our back garden was flooded out.
I was bloody furious at GMTV for cutting off the coverage of the flooding to go to an item about Paris Hilton being released from prison. But as the North of England is probably a Third World country for Fiona Phillips and chums, I relied on Calendar to give the true picture.
Phillips apologised today to the viewers who complained. Quite right too! _________________ We made a land where crap is king and the good don't last for long.

That's why I don't watch GMTV. _________________ Geddon

A reason why I don't watch "Get Me The Valium", too. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

My middle son lives in Rotherham and has emailed us some pretty awesome photographs of the flooding.

I've just seen the pictures on the BBC "Humber" site. All around where I live is flooded, but we got away with it. _________________ Geddon
