A key road bridge over the Mississippi river in the US state of Minnesota has collapsed in the evening rush hour killing at least seven people.

At least 60 were injured when part of the I-35W bridge in Minneapolis gave way at 1805 (2305 GMT) on Wednesday.

Apparently it was inspected in 2005 and 2006 and found to be OK.

IMS They were doing some work on the bridge recently

It's a sign of the times that your immediate reaction to a piece of news like this is to wonder if it's a terrorist attack.

But that doesn't seem to be the case this time.

Despite covering the bridge story and Prince's concert this morning on BBC Breakfast tv, they failed to make the link between the two. Minneapolis is Prince's home city.........

then again, it's not important.. Rolling Eyes
