R2 can be very proud of its hour from 1 to 2pm today, when Jeremy Vine and Roger Royle joined in passing messages to overseas troops from their families. The hour flew past and I'm sure the programme must have brought much comfort to separated families. Well done, all.

Yes, I enjoyed listening to it, although I couldn't quite work out whether Roger Royle was being ironic, funny or naive when he mentioned that it was a good thing that one sailor's family lived "next to a dockyard" in Plymouth.... the serviceman's reply was thankfully rather tactful.

Roger did mention Richard Allinson being heard on BFBS and then heard him on radio 2. " Then the lady from BFBS and Jeremy said you shouldn't said that. |

I thought it was excellent as well Ian. Jeremy was great with the children as of course was Roger Royle.
