Others may differ but i reckon
Replace Parky with Johnnie Walker 11-1 with a similar format with guests etc.
Replace Johnnie's afternoon show with Allinsons Albums.
Richard could interview artists with new albums and play 2-3 tracks along with new releases and classic album tracks. _________________ The Voice of reason in a MAD MAD world |

For me, Walker is King but I don't see him playing the same kind of music as Parky? I love to hear bands and of course Sinatra but this isn't Johnnie's bag.
Maybe Ed Stewart will return but even he wouldn't fill Parky's shoes in terms of music played..
I wonder if Mike Aspel would fit the bill?
But, yes please to JW doing a light hearted 50s - 70s show with bandmember guests from the period!

I have a gut feeling Parky's replacement is none other than Davina McCall. Parky's departure may well result Lesley Douglas to totally overhaul the Sunday morning/lunchtime schedule.
One programme that needs to be banished from existence is Sunday Love Songs. Elaine Paige should also be moved to the evenings. |

Great to hear those Johnny Mercer songs this morning on Parky! Also The Wise Guys singing 'Chocolate Chip Cookies' was a good laugh! |

Davina McCall? After her poor cover for Ken Bruce? Surely not.
Still feel that there should be a general request programme. Could this provide a slot?

It's the old Family Favourites slot (well, half of it anyway), and I thought SLS had taken over that mantle, featuring as it does some dedications from servicemen abroad.
A general request show would actually be something I don't think we have specifically seen since the demise of FF and Junior Choice and the rise of the dedication or mention (or "mensh") in the 70s.
If the existing format goes there will be much wailing in the A&R offices of many a record company, for Parky has been largely responsible for the rise to popular acclaim in this country of a lot of young jazz/easy listening crossover artists, some of whom are really quite good, not to mention keeping alive the spirit of the best of the old warhorses (and I don't just mean Sinatra). _________________ Ron |

Not sure - he seems to be having a long goodbye. The very last show will be a compilation of his TV chats but the week before will have new (final) interviews with David Attenborough, Peter Kay, David Beckham, Dame Edna, Judi Dench, and of course Billy Connolly and Jamie Cullum. |
