I might give Jezza's Exiles another go - last time I tried going there it appeared to be down and there was a bit of trouble. I'm also a bit wary of conversing with the sort of people who listen to Jeremy Vine
(and I'm embarrassed that I didn't get round to that logo I promised) |

I've been on Jezza's since the start, in fact I've posted more there than here ( mostly frivolity threads of course ) but I regard this place as home and I hope it'll continue.
John, maybe you could use your influence and reel old Ernie back in! I'm sure he must be missing us a little.
He used to make me laugh pretending Chris Evans was entertaining..

Yes, I signed up for Jezza's when things were at their worst on this site last week, but I'll probably just lurk for a bit. Listening to someone eulogising about the board on Jeremy Vine's program last week, I thought she sounded a bit "earnest". I'll wait and see how it works out, but I'm glad things are saner here now.
I don't understand why people would want to wreck a forum, what kind of mentality does that? If you don't like it just go somewhere else, or start your own up. Saddo's, I say. They need to get out more. |

Its nice to know I'm missed. I still look in every now & then, but like some others I felt that things got to a stage where it was counter productive to post anything here. The last straw was when a user was clearly setting up multiple aliases in order to hound certain posters.
I suppose we'll see in time whether normality is restored. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Thanks for the reply Ernie, I'm sure we're all glad to see you're still around at least!
It's been quite normal here for the last week so hopefully Admin's actions have done the trick.

Yep, welcome back, Ernie. It hasn't been too pleasant here recently so I'm pleased things have calmed down somewhat, thanks presumably to the actions of Admin and John. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

T[riffic, welcome back. Now there's just this little matter of your allegiance to CE and then everything will be just hunky dorey! C'mon, you know it makes sense. |

You are missed ernie, don't let them force you off this forum as the regulors add most to these boards and it's the diversity that makes it interesting and fun. The trolls may come and spam, let it go over your head and they will just get bored, so start posting again ernie, otherwise they have won.

I've been backing off posting here, too. The atmosphere has been too confrontational and the signal to noise ratio has dropped right off.
For all your self-righteous ranting, Scott, the place was a lot nicer before you came on the scene. Perhaps if you had lurked for a bit and tried to fit in rather than annoy people, things might have been different... But no, your ego was more important than the community.
Congratulations, you've driven me away, too.
Rob. |

Don't use me as an excuse, Rob. It's your prerogative to leave after all. You're just jumping on the bandwagon, and you had have kept up-to-date with events then you will know that the real troublemakers (who were baiting me) were banned last week. Their activities on here had nothing to do with me, so wind your neck in. |

Dear Rob and Scott,
The grownups of this forum would be grateful if you would both "put a sock in it".
best wishes
yours etc etc. _________________ Over the hill they came....the greatest Army in the World.....The Tartan Army |

I do honestly find it dissapointing when individual members can't live and let live. The whole 'I'm not going to post anywhere that x is' is just childish.
If and when ANY member steps out of line, they will be dealt with, so trying to get someone banned because you don't like them is just moronic. |

It's not who you are posting with, it the disruption and posters can't be bothered with it. So basically let it go over your head and don't bite. So don't post anything. Leave the threads or the above messages you don't like reading and don't reply to them..
You can see that this board has died off over the last few weeks. There are a few too blame for this. Yes it is back stabbing..

There were/are still plenty of threads, topics and sections unaffected by the shemozzle which would love some attention, light or serious, by more than just two or three members. _________________ Ron |

Trouble is, I found myself thinking along these lines - the sensible option being not to feed the trolls - but found there were very few threads that hadn't been infected (apart from the obvious, Ron, which I've rejoined).
Still, things have calmed down now and I feel much more inclined to post. It did not get so bad that I wanted to jump ship, but I was looking for the signs pointing towards the lifeboats in case it became necessary!
