Steve Penk is to leave GCap's Fox FM a year after joining to host the breakfast show. The news was announced by the presenter live on-air yesterday, who cited "internal politics" as a reason for his departure. Fox FM have told Radio Today the decision for Penk to leave was made mutually.

I suppose it can be a long way to Oxford from London the early in the morning.
I'm sure he will be back somewhere close soon? |

Steve Penk has left his breakfast show on Fox FM earlier than planned. He was due to leave the GCap Media station during March but presented his last show on Friday.
Steve, a former host on Virgin Radio and Key 103 has been telling listeners of his off-air problems at the station, and said on Friday he was holding meetings to try and sort out the situation.
Programme Controller Helen Grimes said in January: "We have agreed to not renew Steve Penk's current contract on the Fox FM Breakfast Show. He is finding the daily commute from London to Oxford difficult and can't commit to another 12 month contract."
According to the stations website, Neil Williams is the new breakfast show presenter.

Smooth? Magic? Gold? Radio 2?
Give over, he's on his way down down down. Nowt to do with travel from London to Oxford and all to do with being useless (and being found out). He'll be on some obscure ILR station soon, and will last about 12 months there. |
