Interesting to note that RA opened his daily show on BFBS Radio 2 today with the Amy Winehouse song Rehab to acknowledge her success at the music awards last night.
Would be interested to learn what the opening song that were presented/played by the "3 Lions" on their BBC Radio 2 shows earlier today- ie Messrs Wogan, Bruce and Ms Kennedy.
As I can't stand these 3 dinosaurs did the 3 of them acknowledge in their shows today, in any way, her success last night at all. |

Aled played Man In Motion (St Elmo's Fire), presumably in honour of Dickie as he drives from job to job across London _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Ernie-Richard has just one job currently on weekdays-working for BFBS Radio 2.
Still Man in Motion (St Elmos Fire) is a great song-have it on my iPod-love it.
Good work Aled if he spun this tune. |

Sarah started off with Two Hearts. I cant think of any Allinson related inference in that song!! _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Terry started off with "Perfect" by Fairground Attraction, so no link there either.
He played the dreadful "Rehab" later followed by "Radio Nowhere" _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07
I have heard how radio should be. |

Aled also had a pretty decent live session by The Feeling. How many live sessions does Richard A do on BFBS? |

I very much doubt BFBS could afford live sessions. BFBS is a station where you would only come across if you were looking for it. Radio 2 is a National well known station. I know Mark M enjoys listening too Richard A and I do when he's on Radio 2 and have listened to him on Capital when he was there.
One thing I'm getting rather tired of is Mark M keep on slagging down certain broadcasters on Radio 2 who he doesn't listen too. He does have his own opinion and should keep them to himself unless he tunes in. It's getting rather rude. I don't think Richard Allinson would like to read his comments about his colleagues. Thanks Mark M

Mark O-Since when were you put in charge of these boards.
I take exception to your 2nd paragraph.
This is a message board operated on freedom of speech principles. I have broken no rules or had any warnings re any of my posts on here.
I like lots of Radio 2 output but I dislike some of the shows/presenters as well. I am entitled to my point of view and provided I keep within the rules I will continue to post. The board is healthier if we have different Points Of View/Opinions. If everybody loved everything about Radio 2 then people would soon find this place boring.
Rant over.
By the way BFBS Radio 2 does NOT have live sessions-it's not the sort of Radio station set up for this. |
