Can I just say a big thank you to Johnnie Walker and Stuart Maconie for the excellent music played this week, it actually felt like I was listening to Radio 2 again.
While Terry plays some good stuff now and then, since Pauly passed on the music on his show has become very similar to Ken Bruces which itself is very much like a bland commercial radio playlist.
I was a little worried that Stuart might veer towards a lot of obscure stuff, but he seems to play a great variety of stuff eg Barry Biggs and Sweet Sensation both of which I was delighted to hear again.
Hearing great music while you are working can really make a difference to your mood and make the day much more enjoyable.
PS Chris Evans also plays some great music. I know a lot of you hate him but that shouldn't detract from the music he plays |

But Chris Evans does detract from the music, just as Steve Wright does. They are not interested in music, just in gabbing away and amusing themselves, that's why people such myself who love music do not listen to their shows. I know they will interrupt and talk over the songs with their unfunny waffle. |

It's been a great week having two great broadcasters on after each other, and as mentioned elsewhere, the handovers alone made my week. Two guys with genuine respect for each other playing great music, and NOT talking over every single record, which is why we must distance these two professionals from Chris Evans. Agreed, he plays good music (though the Fridays requests gets quite samey, of a high school hits variety...) but this matters little when it's being interrupted all the time. So hats off to the 2 stand ins this week, particularly Stuart's 'Boss' joke during Tuesday's handover!!!
With the possible exception of Wogan, the best 2 presenters on Radio 2. |

I like the CE show
Always nice to hear Stuart Maconie too. JW would suit me on a morning. I'd hate to see Terry go but.... well, a change is as good asa a rest!!

Cheers BB,
I'll do my best to keep dropping in.
Can't be as regular as the good old days, but I know I've got some catching up to do.
Good to see you're still around BB _________________ Mig |

I have to admit that in the past I've tended to switch off when JW has been standing in for TW as I haven't enjoyed it so much. This time though, I've found myself listening. I'm not sure whether he's changed, I've changed or we both have, but it's a satisfactory arrangement whichever it is. _________________ ~~~ Niblet ~~~
