...sitting in for Mark Lamarr who's ill and supposed to be sitting in for Wossy. Help!
Jupitus (after two tracks being played back-to-back with an odd poem in the middle and a brief snatch of silence): "I'm not used to this equipment..."
I'm now listening to a violin piece intro.... have I entered some alternate universe or something? (Oh, it's a version of a Beach Boys hit....!) _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Blimey what if LD wasn't in charge of 6 Music as well as R2, who would bale out R2 sicky presenters?
Jo is reading out text messages. |

Having listened to some more of PJ and JB standing in, I take it all back - anyone who plays something from Piney Gir on a Saturday morning is alright in my book.... some good live pieces (e.g. The Divine Comedy doing their cover of The Associates' "Party Fears Too", for instance) - great stuff.
Much better than the dwoss I occasionally have the misfortune to hear on a Saturday morning.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Given her size that wouldn't surprise me! |

I only heard the end of the show, we were in the car on our way shopping!
Had to turn it off, as we didn't fancy discussing what was being said with the 9 year old who was also sitting in the car!
When they start making comments about sex and paedophiles, as they were (again!) it's definitely time to put our local (Scottish) radio station on!

I agree totally with you QS, I cannot understand how LD has allowed Saturday morning R2 to evolve into this crude and offensive presentation of radio by who ever presents it these days. To bring Ed Stewart's Children's Choice back, would be more positive radio than we are served up now from 10 - 1 PM on a Saturday. IMHO, anyway.

It makes me wonder how Jo got into presenting for Radio 2? She's more a standup comedian. |

Oh dear, I missed that bit, I agree that is out of order for daytime radio.
I like Jo Brand as a comedian but she's not so good as a radio presenter. |

I only had time to listen to a little bit this morning, but it seemed to be the radio equivalent of temperature inversion. We had PJ & JB bickering like an old married couple and playing Piney Gir, Elvis Costello's odd cover and The Clash on Radio 2, and Liz Kershaw reading emails and texts and playing Scissor Sisters, Zutons and Badly Drawn Boy on 6 Music. _________________ Ron |

I didn't hear the last 90 minutes, quickssandra, but considering the comments I've made here previously about JR's subject matter on a Saturday morning, I'd whole-hearted agree with you.
Presumably the programme deteriorated from its promising first hour or so, more's the pity. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

You'll fit in here very nicely with that attitude.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”
