Prince Harry has been fighting the Taleban on the front line in Afghanistan, the MoD has confirmed.

Harry, 23, who is third in line to the throne, has spent the last 10 weeks serving in Helmand Province.

Interesting that the foreign media organisation had to negotiate whether to release the news black out or not. Give the News Channels something to talk about.

I think he will have to come home now. At least he has served his country.

The way to win the war against the Taliban is to crack down ( no pun intended) on the drug dealers and users here and in the US. If there is no market for their illegal drugs they will perish. The money wasted on this never ending war could be better spent on ridding us of the drugs menace by strengthing border controls, better policing and locking up convicted drug dealers for life. Our soldiers are dying because some idiots want to get 'high' and criminals can make money over their pathetic weaknesses.

Sorry to hear Prince Harry is being brought home, when he appears to like the life. I suppose there's no alternative but what happened to all that fine talk about not giving in to terrorists?

Ian.

They should bring them all home really. I know it isn't Harry's fault but he is being treated differently to all other personnel serving abroad. I think he will be annoyed about it as he seemed to be enjoying it, why can't some people just keep their big fat mouths shut.

The comments section on the Australian news site ("New Look") that broke the story the other day had some interesting comments from various posters - none particularly complimentary to the journalist responsible or the site's editor. Funnily enough, I looked again tonight and the comments page (well, six pages worth) had been pulled in favour of a simple biography of Harry....

They all should come home as soon as humanly possible but I think once the news had been broken they had no option but to bring Harry home otherwise he'd be an increased danger/target both personally and for the other troops fighting alongside him.

The British Press for once behaved themselves. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the individuals for whom the glory of breaking the story meant more than the safety of the people concerned...as if they aren't in enough danger already.

Another case of American so-called friendly fire?
