London’s Smooth Radio has signed breakfast TV star Fiona Phillips to present its Sunday afternoon show from Easter weekend.
Fiona, who started her career as a radio journalist, will begin her new Sunday afternoon show every Sunday on 23rd March, which will include interviews and special guests.
One of the most recognisable faces on British television, Phillips has presented at GMTV for over 10 years. Prior to that, she had a successful career as a news correspondent both in independent radio and television.
Smooth Radio’s programme controller Gavin McCoy said: “It’s a delight to be able to welcome Fiona to Smooth Radio. She has a very warm personality and a great sense of humour and I have no doubt will entertain our listeners as much on a Sunday afternoon as she does the nation each morning

Mr Occomore / Dark Knight,
as a matter of interest why do you bother posting stories like this, not only on here but also on Points of View?
Surely you can find a better use of your time? After all, who on earth is interested in this sort of thing apart from Miss Phillips herself? _________________ MiS |

Although there cannot be many, or any, of us here who want to listen to Smooth Radio London, even if we could receive it, it is nice to know what the "opposition" is up to now and again. I'm interested in radio, though not to the extent of wanting to subscribe to or trawl through the various specialist sites, so I don't mind these little threads, and it provides a little welcome traffic on a very quiet board.
I must say I was stumped for words when I read the news. Still am, really _________________ Ron |

Not this again Maybe he thinks people might want to read about it. It was obvious what the thread was about, why did you open it if you were not interested? Please don't let's start this stuff again, it was the reason why I left as my former user name a few months ago. |

Will she have Here Comes The Flood (Peter Gabriel) and The Ballad Of John & Yoko as her opening songs? _________________ We made a land where crap is king and the good don't last for long.

Which doesnt mean that you have to comment does it?

Mmm, take your own advice, Ernie!
There is no doubt that Mark posts a lot of junk mail on these boards, but I have just thanked him for posting the article about R2 girls. Credit where it's due! _________________ MiS |

Mark posts what he thinks people might be interested in, there is no need for sarky comments. One man's meat is another's poison and not everyone is going to be interested, live and let live. |

There were no "sarky comments". I repeat, I thanked Mark for posting something I felt was useful. _________________ MiS |
