We can't stop the fuel prices going up. The price is nearly $2 a barrel of crud oil. BP have said they made a profit, but some BP fuel pumps are empty in my town. This is a disgrace. We all need to get too and from work ( Yes use a bike ha ha )
So we need to save on fuel by
1. Empty Your Car Full Of Junk
2 Do a steady 55 MPH
3 Don't use a roof rack
4 Don't open car windows
5 No Radio
6 No Air Con
Now we can all turn our cars into a Flintstones one. What you think Barney? |

I heard it was $200 a barrel.
1. Empty Your Car Full Of Junk - it's not full yet!
2 Do a steady 55 MPH - can't do that, it's a 30mph limit round where I live
3 Don't use a roof rack - never seen an Audi with a roof rack. Very uncool if I may say.
4 Don't open car windows - what, and gob on my steering wheel?
5 No Radio - yeah, that uses a lot of energy
6 No Air Con - but then I'd need to open the windows
hey mark, on yer bike !

Yeah, but even Mark knows that the constant charging of the battery uses fuel |

"We" can stop the fuel prices going up, or at least the Government can, by reducing the tax levied on petrol in the short term. Suggestions are that crude prices will come down so why can't Brown show good will and reduce tax?

I can't find it on the web, but apparently Roger Waters has let another one go...
Yes, it was the chairman of OPEC who said the other day that he wouldn't be surprised if oil hit $200 a barrel, because of the weakening dollar and market speculation, as much as world demand.
The oil companies maintain that they make very little money out of the petrol pumps, and the band played believe it if you like.
The amount of money the Treasury is reaping in, not only in duty but also VAT, on the back of the increased prices, is obscene, and the Government is only getting away with it because there's no credible Opposition and their minds are elsewhere anyway.
When petrol is £5 a gallon, so it costs £60 to fill up, the 10-15% improvement in fuel economy that a national 55mph limit on the "open" road would deliver, is something to be considered at a time when supplies are becoming more volatile. _________________ Ron |
