Saw "Joseph" last Wednesday...
Lee Mead was amazing! I think he's been doing a lot of voice training, as he sang so much better than he did on that reality show.
The whole show was really good- I'd recommend it to anybody.
We also got last-minute tickets to the "Lion King" in the evening. Musically, it isn't that memorable- but visually... WOW!!! _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

Absolutely fabulous show it's opened to rave reviews and taken a storm at the box office. The cast give 110% they are trying to get Michael Ball to extend his contract (I hope he does) as Edna Turnblad, brilliant performance . Leanne Jones is a sensation the Shaftesbury curse is no more. _________________ Put some records on while I pour |

Have just bought tickets for the Jersey Boys which kicks off in London shortly. My excitement levels are building already
Friends of mine have seen this show in both New York and Las Vegas and they keep telling me "fantastic show".
Will report back once I have seen this show. |

Can't wait for your review! Can't get up any excitement for it myself, and am expecting it to bomb at the box office.
I just can't imagine that Frankie Valley and the 4 seasons would be of that much interest to a British Audience. I'm still amazed that Mary Poppins closed, given that it's had a shorter run than Chitty Chitty bang Bang, Lion King and Billy Elliot. I just can't imagiine that its box office was doing that badly.
On the plus side, it could be a bit like Forever Plaid, which I really really liked as a musical / concerticle. |

It wasn't doing badly - they just decided to end it while it was still making a profit, before it slipped to a loss. I think there was a lot of pressure from the Jersey Boys producers to get Poppins out. As you say, I think that's a mistake. |

Last week, I saw Dealer's Choice which was very good.
I'm off to see Hairspray and the last night of La Cage aux Folles on the 8th, followed by Lauren Kennedy on the 15th, in concert at the Menier Chocolate Factory with special guests Lara Pulver & Philip Quast (well, it's really the 'special guest' that's the main draw - but should be good!). _________________ "I'm a firm believer in not having to play the hand you're dealt." |

Not quite the same thing but I won tickets to see the recording of the 'Simply Red Stars Concert' at the Radio theatre at Broadcasting House 2 weeks ago.
The newly refurbished theatre only holds around 200 and I was about 5 rows back so the concert had a very intimate feel to it.
It was fantastic and will be broadcast on Saturday March 22nd unless anything changes.

I'd be throwing a sickie against myself. You're not allowed to be ill when you're self-employed. It's against the rules. _________________ ONline, ONdigital and ONtherocks: BBC Radio 2. Eleanor Rigby, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door. |

I went to see a show called 'Rock' about Rock Hudson and his agent Henry Willson. It was very well acted, though downbeat in theme. The funny thing was that most of the audience were dressed in check shirts and jeans a la Rock Hudson in the fifties! What a gay play! |

I wish I hadn't gone to see His Dark Materials at West Yorkshire Playhouse. The day before, I'd attended my uncle's funeral and, as his family were torn apart by half of them becoming Jehovah's Witnesses, I did not take kindly to the character of Mrs. Coulter taking Lyra and the other children off to a house of 'correction' where they were made to believe in the one true God.
As I write, I'm listening to Richard Allinson and he's playing a song by Chicago called '4th of July' - which happened to be my uncle's birthday. _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!
