Duroing Allinsons Albums today Richard mentioned he would like to see the film The Graduate being given the 2008 treatment.
This got me thinking about other films that perhaps should undergo a re-make.
One of my favourite films is Ice Station Zebra-I wouldn't mind this film being given the modern treatment.
Which film would you like seeing being re-made. |

I think The Graduate was/is perfect and no need for a re-make. I think all classic films should remain as they are - you wouldn't rewrite a classic piece of literature would you? Re-makes very rarely come up to the standards of their originals anyhow.
It would be much better to see Hollywood, and other branches of the movie industry, investing money into original ideas. Sadly, they seem all too inclined to go for the easy option. _________________ ONline, ONdigital and ONtherocks: BBC Radio 2. Eleanor Rigby, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door. |

In which case let's apply the principle to classic musical creations. It must be time for a remake of Sergeant Pepper, Pet Sounds, Dark Side of The Moon...... etc.

we've had the remake of Sgt Peppers, let's not have that again
The problem with remakes is they are usually american and they change the plot to lots of explosions etc and lose the story |

I wouldn't like to see any film remade, I would prefer some new ideas instead of rehashing the same old stuff all the time. |

Gumball Rally, Smokey & The Bandit, FM, Every Which Way But loose. I'd settle to just see them on TV again. Especially FM, the one Steely Dan's song of the same name is the theme tune for and which, to my knowledge, only ever was shown the once. Was it ever released on video etc? Let's not forget the follow up to Every Which Way... If you re-make that, then you would have to re-make the sequel Any Which Way You can. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

I'd like to see Cameron's "Titanic" remade - without the annoying love element, just the factual story!
Rumour had it that he was going to release such a film but I suppose that's all it was - just a rumour.. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Remake Titanic - only this time the iceberg sinks and the ship makes it to New York! _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I always thought that the ending to Cameron's "Titanic" could have been improved upon.
And who the hell allowed that silly tart and that young Irish bloke to stand right up on the bow? Daft! _________________ ONline, ONdigital and ONtherocks: BBC Radio 2. Eleanor Rigby, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door. |

In what way do you think the ending could be improved?
Maybe Cameron could make "Titanic - the Conspiracy" showing how the Olympic was switched and the accident was planned... now that would be good.
All credit to Cameron, the film sets and CGI of the ship were superb, but I do think he could have made more of the ship's story rather than rely on a drippy love theme.
It's the only film I went to see several times in a row.. I won't say how many times, it's embarrassing now. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Well, hitting that iceberg was a bit silly wasn't it? They're big enough, after all.... Perhaps the screenwriter wasn't being paid enough. _________________ ONline, ONdigital and ONtherocks: BBC Radio 2. Eleanor Rigby, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door. |

I like too see Halloween Made again. I know they made it again back in 1998 calling it H20 and Halloween Resurrection a few years later. I just think there is a story to continue in a lot of these Horror Movies?
I know they are going to remake Dirty Harry and kill him off.
Also ET. |

They could remake The Good, the Bad & the Ugly but discrimation laws probably wouldn't allow it |

Absolutely.
As for Ice Station Zebra, Mark, it was a pretty cheesey, cliche'd Alistair MacLean novel even before Hollywood made the film. I think It's beyond redemption, or repetition. _________________ Ron |
