We'll be in Kennedy Airport when midnight strikes in UK, 40,000 feet above the Atlantic when midnight occurs on the plane but not sure which time zone, maybe a couple of hours into the flight. I expect the pilot will know
Free drinks of course (British Airways) but muggins here will have 100 miles home to drive (can't see the missus volunteering) so I'll be trying to sleep the first few hours of 2007.
If I don't get on here again this year, have a Happy Hogmonay and a Guid New Year!

It will be 7:00pm in JFK when midnight strikes in the UK. It's the same timezone as the part of Canada I visit every few years.
Wishing everyone on this list a very happy 2007! |

Just popped in to wish everyone a Happy and prosperous New Year. I've been back at work since Wednesday and it's been chaotic in Lost and Found. How people can be sooo stupid to leave their Christmas shopping in car parks and outside shops, is a mystery! Apart from all the usual purses, bags, wallets and mobile phones left in taxis etc.
Someone will ring and tell me they had their purse stolen and has it turned up? I say that it's at the station and all their cash is still in it, but they still insist it was stolen!! Too ashamed to say they were drunk and just lost it. _________________ I like cats and music |

Well yes scorpio, but I also like, classical, folk, country, jazz, easy listening, reggae and anything that I hear and like, try not to put music into pigeon holes, or genre; lets just say eclectic. Music is like wimmin & beer, just good ones and better ones
Your better half is fortunate to have owned a Bonnie, my last Brit bike was a T100SS, she died in 69 on the M18

Yep! Happy new year!
What are you guys doing tonight? I'm having a quiet night in. Currently listening to Radio 4s evening about the geat Musicals. Later I'll watch Jools on BBC2, mostly to see Amy Winehouse.
But i'll have to block my ears, me thinks, when little lilly Allen goes on! |

Yep, 15 minutes to go for the Old Year and I'm having my usual quiet night in for a New Year's Eve, taking a break from demolishing the second of two paperbacks today.
May everyone have a Happy, Prosperous and Healthy 2007 - and may you all continue to post more of the excellent material I've seen here in the last month.... cheers, everyone! _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Morning all and hope your celebrations haven't left you with too much of a hangover!
Cardiff's celebrations went down well and just before midnight we went out to the back yard to watch the fireworks going off all over the city - more so with the wind! Then after about 10 minutes it started raining. I walked my friend part of the way to her house then went home to bed to read. At about 1.30am there was a bright light and a huge crash of thunder - I think it was God telling everyone she had better firworks than them!!
Anyway Happy Days _________________ I like cats and music |

I went to bed at 9pm last night, so full up with cold I had no choice. The first "New Years" I've missed for many years.
No big city stuff for me but there's usually plenty of fireworks in our seaside town. I normally go out onto the balcony with one of our Newfoundland dogs and we both watch the rockets, she loves it whilst the other one cowers in the living room!
Had a crappy ending to 06, glad to see it gone! nothing but staff hassle all over Christmas.
Guess what? the very first thing I heard from the wife this morning as I opened my eyes, "the washup wants 2 weeks off" and, somebody's called in sick so you're it.
Happy New Year......... |

Happy new year to everyone.
I didn't have the best end to 2006, one of our cats died yesterday
Anyway enough doom and gloom, here's to a good 2007! we'll be getting another furry friend when the time is right. |

Sorry to hear about you losing one of your cats....
Had my usual quiet New Year, even the fireworks were muted due to the very high winds (no doubt people didn't want them flying off at right-angles instead of upwards!).
Newcastle Council had to cancel their city centre celebrations as the stage for the planned concert was only rated for 30mph winds - the gusts were hitting 70mph last night. I think the R2 broadcast from Belfast suffered as the Irish do was cancelled, as was the one in Edinburgh. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Sorry to hear about your cat TTS, they kind of become one of the family and although we know that they only have a finite life, which is normally much shorter than ours, we still get upset & miss them. Hope this new year brings you much happiness which will hopefully relieve the sense of loss.
Best wishes

Sorry about your cat, I have 2 and have been with 4 at the end of their lives. It doesn't get any easier. I also have a couple of strays I've been feeding up. People annoy me when they see their tiny cute kitten has grown up into a CAT! So they chuck it out. Don't get me started!!! _________________ I like cats and music |

Mind you, they do tend to nudge me off the bed sometimes! and at 12 stone, you can't argue with a Newfie. |
