Dr John Semtanu is right to say that the church needs to engage with those carrying out these appalling knife crimes.
Isn't it utterly lamentable, then, that it's getting into a lather over ordination of women and gay priests, rather than issues such as knife crime. What does this say about its priorities?

Would of thought a church's principle purpose would be to spread its religious beliefs, rather than act as a social worker. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Thou shall not kill is one the church's tenets, surely? |

Coveting thy neighbours ox is out as well. But since when do Churches campaign on single issues?
Funniest one is the CoE campaigning against global warming. Isn't Revelations full of predictions about global warming? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Sorry, my original posting should have referred to women bishops rather than the general female ordination issue.

I don't belong to the CofE so maybe it's not for me to comment but I don't understand why woman vicars are OK and women bishops aren't.
If Jesus decided to come back today what would he say, I wonder? _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |

At the risk of getting into SERIOUS trouble. At least the Anglican church has none of the hypocrisy of the church of rome! _________________ Geddon
