Probably a bit late, I know, but you may like to make a note to watch or record tonight three programmes about or presented by the late Charles Wheeler -
BBC2 7.20... Tribute to Charles Wheeler (11.20 on BBC2 Wales)
BBC4 9.00... JFK _ Legend and Leader (CW speaks to key figures of the 60s and travels across the USA and to Berlin, where he was based at the time of the assassination)
BBC4 9.30... Shadow Over Europe (CW presents a documentary uncovering how Czechoslovakia drove millions of ethnic Germans from their homes in 1945, a mass expulsion sanctioned by the Allies and costing thousands of lives)

I watched it from 7 'till half past when Eastenders came on...  very interesting and although I've never been into politics and heavy stuff, I remember most of the situations shown. He'll be sadly missed and obviously much adored by his colleagues.
I hadn't heard about his slip up with the Queen!
( he was overheard to say "I wish that bloody woman would go home!" )
After watching her shooting Tigers, I'd feel the same way.
